Launch of World Charity Lottery Announced

A new internet based lottery has been announced by the World Charity Bank. The new lottery's sole purpose is to raise funds for various charities around the world. A lottery license has been issued enabling the lottery to begin the sale of tickets. The WBC lottery jackpots are denominated in euros. On October 12th the WBC will launch the new lottery with a 10,000,000 euro ($14,148,011 USD) jackpot.

The WCB has announced that 70% of all profits will go directly to internationally recognized charities around the world. Tickets for the new lottery will be available from the lottery's website at WCBLottery.com and will cost 10 euros ($14.13 USD) each. The WCB lottery hopes to raise 2,000,000,000 euros ($2,827,506,870 USD) per year within two years. During the first year the WCB plans to conduct one lottery per month and one lottery per week in the second year.

The CEO of the WBC lottery is Geoffrey W. Hill who has 25 years of experience in the gambling industry. Mr. Hill says he has been inspired by Live Aid and has been influenced by rock stars Sir Bob Geldorf and Bono both of whom are known for their support of various charities. The World Charity Lottery will also use music to market the new lottery with appearances by some (soon to be announced) big name rock stars. The lottery has commissioned New Zealand singer songwriter Aly Cook to write the theme song for the lottery.

The World Charity Lottery is inviting all charitable and humanitarian organizations to register and become involved in this worthy cause. In 2008 the World Charity Lottery entrusted its business plans and intellectual property to the International Federation of the Red Cross, the Red Crescent and the United Nations High Commission of Refugees all based in Geneva Switzerland. The lottery plans to release further details as they become available.

If the World Charity Bank wanted to increase ticket sales they should take the advice of many lottery experts and allow people to purchase lottery tickets online. European lotteries have allowed players to buy online lottery tickets with great success. Players can buy online lottery tickets from their home computers or mobile devices. Players can also check the latest winning numbers.

Hopefully the United States will loosen the burdensome regulations of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 so US players can participate in the charitable lottery without any problems.
